have a great xmas - when you come back to painting here's my thoughts.
great scene, i love the front cow looking quizzically at the viewer :) but they all look to have short legs. i realise that its because the grass is meant to be long but at the moment it doesn't have that effect. Not sure how you do it - maybe longer strands and some flowers - as if they've just been put into a new meadow? anyway - love to see the final version please.

Wendy, I think you probably mean a Highland Cow....Aberdeen Angus are black and short haired.
As everyone googles Aberdeen Angus to prove me wrong !!!

cheers

coming on nicely Chris - love the sharpness of the grass - i have to keep flicking back to see what you've changed, subtle changes but make a huge difference. front cows legs still look a bit short though  ( ducks)

Hello groovers,

Windy  Windy  ...bit of a breeze yeah.

Pampas grass broke, bird feeder defected to the neighbours garden and me hair do has gone all unnecassary :?

Roll on spring!

But anyway, here's my dairy cow painting finished then.
Darkened up the whole of the grass a touch in the end. Glazed the backgroung hills/fields to try and make then look distant. Added a touch of alizarin crimson in the ladies themselves, and a bit of this and that here and there.

Oil on canvas 16'' by 12''.

All comments welcome, here to improve.

Catch ya
