Hi guys, just want to say what a great forum, I've already picked up loads of advice and tips. I hadn't done any painting for about 15 years since school and have just started again. I've done about 5 pieces in watercolours and my wife suggested I have a go at selling. I would love to give up my day job and paint proffesionally. Any comments good or bad on the painting would be greatly appreciated. thanks very much

Hi Mark and welcome, like you I got back into it not having done anything for 35 years and am now doing it as job it doesn't earn me a fortune but pays the same as I used to get in a boring partime job, depending on your situation you can make a go of selling.Good luck and the work is brill :D

hello mark - same here - I'd not painted since school - my gap was longer than yours though :)
nice start there. i like the reflections in the water. Its hard work to earn a living from art, not many do but it can be done as wendy says, most people seem to regard it as a useful additional income - but you've made the first start. ( ah - thats assuming you've set up a website?) .

Thanks for your kind words guys, you've given me a confidence boost to crack on with painting. I have missed it and love the fact you can paint away and time fly's by and it's so relaxing. I plan to set up my own website when I've built my collection up, but at present I've put a few painting on the following website.
