Hi All, :D

I started working on this one a few months back and then put it to one side to start something else. My inspiration finally returned and here's the finished article. As usual, all comments are very much appreciated....

Evening Gary,

You've been busy as ever.

Great painting mate.

I'm not sure about the expression on his/hers face though. Not sure why though. :?

It's a good painting for sure, but....(oh no).....for me it's a bit fussy. There seems to be as much detail in the background as in the foreground and the fella himself. So very little arial perspective a'happening and a bit distracting from the fine beasty.

I'll shut up now. Just a few thoughts is all.(other thoughts are available  )

Good work mate

A difficult animal to portray and made more tricky due to the high viewpoint.
However, as usual, you have pulled it off !

The face does look a bit 'vacant' - the lights are on but nobody at home ..........

Well done anyway :D

its an amazing work - brilliantly executed but somehow the tiger doesn't have quite enough "bite" impact - whatever but seems a bit post in that detailed background. Tigers are such striking animals that it seems a shame to lose that wow factor.
Thats just me being picky though - overall its a great work, and far far from anything i could do. Its easy to see faults. be picky but much harder to prodice work like that yourself :D

I think the tiger looks like his mind is on something...like he's spotted something just out of view and is stalking it.

A great picture!

Thanks folks for all your comments so far!! It's interesting to read how individuals view my work and how diverse their opinions can be. All in all constructive criticism inspires me to better myself which can only be a good thing....I've had some encouraging news from the one and only John Banovich, world reknown wildlife artist but I think I'll start a separate thread with that one..... :D

Hi gary,

I think your painting is fantastic, I wish I could paint as good as you. I felt that the tiger was concentrating on something ahead, which gave him that look. Whatever it was, as far as I am concerned I think it is brilliant!

Take care

Kathy

Thanks Kathy for your kind comments....

I've taken a look at your site and note that like me, you have a passion for painting animals. You have talent and should keep it up, we all develop our own personal style over the years and this you should take confidence in. We particularly like the "guinea pig" as my other half, Kim, keeps them as a hobby!! :D
