Did you tell him ice cream for dinner Wendy? (geddit???)

My mum does that too, phones on the landline, lets it ring about 4 times then decides I'm out and calls me on my mobile instead. So while I'm running for the main phone it stops and the mobile starts. Then I try to phone her back and it's engaged cause she's leaving me a message. Drives you up the wall, doesn't it!

I was curious to find out who needed to scream and of course why - (obvious mental Munch images) - and had to smile. The older I get the more oblivious I seem to be to distractions - not good really!
Wendy, I was wondering if the call from your hungry son was somewhere close to serving up the dinner?
My own sorry experiences re combining dinner and Art is a lesson learned: I never cook while working as I will always end up with a burnt offering, so I have stopped combining the two tasks. Whoever was it who said a woman can multitask?

This reminds me of when I used to come home from school to find my mum painting away and no dinner ready. My own daughter told me off yesterday, she was chatting away merrily to me and I didn't hear a word she was saying.

No I hadn't even given dinner a thought, let alone cooking it    .But really, was it such an emergency    As to know? Then having the third degree as to where was I that I couldn't answer the phone.

But I just cannot be stopped in mid flow,I totally loose the plot, don't others feel the same?

I have to say Wendy there are certain noises I can't work hearing, and that will always break my train of thought. My husband likes football, that needs to be as far from me as poss or i can't even begin to get focussed, that and certain kinds of music ie music I can't bear or music I love too much!
