Yes just a rotation of all artists would be great :D

I agree that a rotation of artists is fairest but this raises an interesting point of who the Artist's Web Home page is actually targeting. I think as it is structured at present it basically appeals to artists rather than purchasers - the heading "Create and manage your own website" seems to me to put it firmly in that camp. If you were looking to buy original art and came upon the Artists Web homepage it's not that obvious how you would go about finding exactly what you're looking for.

Chris, I'm not trying to be critical here - at the end of the day, we artists are your customers so why shouldn't you target us on your homepage - but it might be possible to make the home page a bit more purchaser friendly. It's probably only a matter of making the "Buy Art" box more prominent with more description, or maybe you could import the Art Search feature which currently appears on the "Artwork" page onto the home page. What do you think?

Sorry if I've gone a bit off topic here but this is something which has occurred to me in the past and it was just looking again at the featured artist box on the homepage which jogged my memory.

I know it was a twist of fate we landed on your doorstep as you originally were only a site to target websites for artists, and it has diverted to being both a selling site too,so Elise has a good point, it is still mostly directed at the artists not the buyers of Art.We are gratefull for what you have done already, but as you know we need all the promotion we can get.

I agree with Elise. IT would be good if the home page was aimed more at the buyer. Artists will go into their own admin area/website anyway, so there's no loss of functionality. To attract new members, all you need is a link to a "join us" page.

Thanks for the clarification Chris on the original post...Im with Dennis on this one rotation fairer exposure for all artists even though it would take a while to individually come round..not a problem for me..

Regarding the homepage I think its fine as it is..it does what it says....the site is not a gallery...buy artworks has been added as the well as the new print option..

Having been here nearly a year and with the individual artists website control panel options and seo facilities I find that traffic is finding my site and I am getting good representation on search engines like Google..

Admittedly no sales from here but I dont expect it ..for me its about exposure and being able to direct potential clients to a portfolio of my work....a sale would be a bonus here although I know a few here have had them...JMHO
