Hey

I have never shown my paintings to anyone and I have never had an exhibition. I would really appreciate feedback on my work.

For more paintings see my online portfolio at : http://www.cathrinedesign.no

Thank you all :)

Hi Catherine

Wow- what a varied portfolio you have- some very interesting stuff on there. Your paintings are lovely- very well done indeed.

It is nice of you to take the time to look at my portfolio. It is true, my portfolio is very mixed and I tend to do too much at the same time.

I dont know if anybody can relate to this statement, but I have a problem painting when I know someone is going to view my work. Its like I want them to like it so I (in lack of better words) simplyfy it. I havent tried to sell my work yet, and Im afraid that my work with get worse if I do.

Maby it is just me being weird about it all..hehe

But thank you for your comment !

Hi Cathrine
I find your work quite refreshingly alive. I feel that you must consider your subject first for a while, then attack the painting and finish it quickly. It is not laboured in the slightest.
Strangely though this seems to be contradicted by your self description.
I enjoyed looking and will continue to visit.
Best wishes
Jack

I think your work is great, really confident feel to it. fantastic websites too, when I have more money I might have to commission you. keep going you are really talented. Maybe you could try and sell some of the work you did before you had selling in mind, that way you would see that people buy your work because they love it...

yes agree with all thats said Catherine, i love the way you seem to use simple blocks of colour yet viewed as a whole it works so well.
though the site was quick to load it would be god to have thumbnails on paintings homepage so you can look at individual one and not just click through them all. But maybe because its a portfolio not a sales site thats why you've not done it?
I know what you mean about a buyer affecting your work, its difficult to be certain what they want - always makes me nervous, I'm much happier if people buy whats already done!! but I think you have to tell yourself that its YOUR unique style they want - they've seen your work and picked up from that so paint as you normally would. If they wanted a dif style they would commission a dif painter... :D
I paint in lots of dif media and style too, maybe I'll settle on one some time in future but at moment I just love to experiment and have fun :D
