It does seem a strange email, wanting to buy artwork but not specifying which one and arranging his own shipping etc
May be genuine ???

Screams out scam!! It is a form of money laundering,He will offer to send you more than you ask for and will want it put through your bank to clean it.

there is a bit of an end to this Wendy, at last. there was a change in the law which means banks can't withdraw cheques after 2 weeks ( i think that was how long- i'll have a look)

even better - its called the 2-4-6 rule.. interest paid after 2 days, you can draw agianst it after 4 days and after 6 days it cannot be withdrawn if found to be fraudulent unless the customer ( of the bank) hads colluded in the fraud.

Thanks for that, but in reply to this thread incase it is thought this is not a scam it does sound like a dody buyer anyway, anything where they say they are interested but don't have an image title or your web address is something to be aware of.

oh yes - i agree with that Wendy - sorry, i ought to have made it clear.
in my view if a buyer doesn't know the info that very clear on the website - title of work price etc then its a scam - esp when they contact you via web and then ask for contact details!!!
