Hi everyone! I'm fairly new to art in general... I've been drawing and painting for about 2 years now. I enjoy painting cultural scenes with people. I currently work in acrylics; however, I'll be starting to dabble in water soluable oils.

Hello from me as well and welcome aboard.

I'm new here too. Strangely, I started workng with oil and acrylics years before I began watercolour and gouache. I'm sure you'll enjoy working with oil.

Loking forward to seeing your work soon :D

Then again, who says they won't if you try?

Hi Janet, and Sandra too. Get stuck in with the water soluble oils Janet, I was using acrylics until a couple of months ago when I bought a set of Artisan oils and I love them, I'm finding it quite hard to go back to acrylics now (bit of a shame as I have a drawer full of them......). The quick drying medium is definitely worth it too, particularly if you've been using acrylics as it makes a huge difference to the drying time.

cheers
Elise

Hi Gloria! Thank you for the welcome and I'm looking forward to seeing your work as well! :)

Hi Sandra! Nice to see another newbie! :)

Hi Elise! I just finished my first oil painting and I'm feeling the same way as you. I have a truckload of acrylics and now I'm having trouble getting into the mood to paint in acrylics. I'll be alternating betwee acrylics and oils but the acrylics I'll use to play with color the tubes are bigger and it's also cheaper. Thank you for the tip regarding the fast drying medium. :)
