Might have to move out of the house. The number of canvases and boards which have not moved on are displacing me.
It is sad to see the paintings that for a time were so important gathering dust.
What do other painters do with works completed but 'in abeyance'? I tried to count mine but when I got to fifty I gave up.
Perhaps a solution is to give each work a 'life' then off to the 'recycling' centre.
Does anyone else have the same problem.
Jack

Don't you think you're re-cycling part of yourself Wendy?
Anyway as a result of my despondency, bit of a sleepless night' I rousted out a painting which I did a couple of years ago and have decided to touch it up a bit and circulate it again. It was called the 'Emerald bride' and if the new one is any good I'll call it 'Eastern promise' in the hope that an Arab Sheik will fall in love and buy it.
Lol
Jack

No! I am on a journey and have learned to let things go.It's quite liberating :) I enjoy painting so much they are stored in my mind just like memories,if they don't all sell it does not matter.

I do sometimes revamp as you have done with your Eastern Bride,I will buy a hat in anticipation

hmmmm .... I paint quite slowly and only for short periods of time, in fact I wish I would put a bit more effort im some times, but there doesnt have to be a rule about it does there?

Anyway old stuff iv got bored with gets given away (there always someone ready to get something for nothing im my family/friends lol they prolly think its gonna be worth a fortune some day, lol lol  I get the last laugh maybe).

Acrylic boards get painted over again. Never used a lovely canvas too expensive and no where to put um. Nice painting by way Jack would grace anyones wall; dont be too hard on her with her makeover.

Or perhaps we could try collage on an old work? ooo just though of that sounds groovy!

Im learning digital art at the mo, no probs with storage there although no satisfing real world work either.

Thats my three penith anyway.

What does everyone else do with the skelletons in their closet :?:

I've not really had my paintings for too long, as I always did commissions before. But I would consider donating to a charity shop, library or school, if it couldn't be revamped. At least then someone is benefitting, and if you have your contact & website details on the back you may benefit also in the future - who knows!?.

I must say I find it hard to store canvasses properly to prevent the frames warping or the canvas stretching or scratching - don't think I'm gentle enough!!

Nice portrait by the way. Nice loose style you have mate.
