Hi
If it works I'm posting one of the paintings I have on the go at the moment. I started it several weeks ago and am painting wet over dry so it's a lengthy project. I have changed certain aspects of the work and now it appears to me that my model is now kind of pasted on as though I'd cut it out of a magazine which I assure you I haven't. I may have to create some lost edges which might lose the pasted look.
Anyway any views gratefully received.
Jack

Hi Jack what I can see looks fabulous, but could you make it a bit smaller so to view it as a whole as you can only scroll and see it in bits as it is so large?

It's a lovely pose,I wouldn't do a lot of fiddling just tidy the obvious the curtain tie on the left as you face the painting would irritate me as it isn't quite right and the chair leg nearest just needs neatening.Otherwise in my opinion it's great. :) Others might see different things.

Hi Jack,
The painting looks great , but I feel that you need to do some modeling on the arms, as regards your highlights, the legs are perfect, but the hands and arms need to be more blended to give them the roundness, when you apply the highlights use a clean dry brush to feather them in so as not to make the line so harsh, just lightly pull the light tones into the dark and wipe the brush on some clean rag, to stop putting paint were it's not needed. The hands are important so, spend some time on modeling them and check that the highlights around the eye's , they need to be softer, more blended.
Like I said it's a great painting and it's well worth the extra effort , Good Luck and I would like to see it finished.
Regards Richard

Hi Jack,

I like this too.

I personally wouldn't tidy it up too much.
I think I'd add bit of colour variation to the window frame and a little more work in the curtains perhaps.

That portrait on the wall looks odd to me. Is it the same girl?
Not sure about that.

Paint on mate

Thanks for the help. I just needed a bit of input. Sometimes one feels in isolation. The chair will be finished, the roundness of the arms will be achieved and the portrait on the wall will change into a landscape, I didn't like it either.
Feeling a bit more cheerful. :D
Lol

Ilike the post-impressionistic,loose quality and she really looks at the viewer. Here goesthis damn keyboard again. Yep the tableleg and alittleattention to underneath her left knee and left foot-maybe arc alittlemore or something tomakeit sit on the floor and give her bottom half a good grounding. Apart from that she is great. Ilike that movement between suggestion and tightening up.
