Can anyone tell me anything about the Pittenweem art festival other than what I have googled? Is it worth making the trip?
Are there any other art events in the vicinity?:?

I only live an hour's drive away but I've never been during that week.
As an artist you can't get a space anywhere to sell as all are taken up on a regular basis. I hear of loads of artists selling 50-60 paintings in the week, but I find that hard to believe unless they're giving them away for peanuts. That part of Fife has a lot of galleries operating all year round and I doubt if they'd survive if artists were selling out during the one week, every year. Pittenweem is definitely worth a visit though, but for me anyway, any week but that one.

I regularly visit the festival.
It's great fun, all artwork is shown in the residents' houses so there's free cups of tea flying around, always good!

Also, there's a great bunch of local musicians usually playing of an evening during that week.
The Fence Collective.

Brilliant they are.

Plus there's fish and chips...what's not to like??

Louise, I didn't say I didn't like it far from it in fact.
Given the chance I would happily live there. It's a place we visit regularly along with Crail, St Monans etc.
I just prefer these places on normal working days (if there's such a thing in the East Neuk, they're full of holiday homes)
Maybe I'm a bit miffed as I've tried on a couple of occasions to get a venue, but no chance. I now exhibit in the Jerdan Gallery in Crail pretty much throughout the year. But Jack, don't listen to me...go and see for yourself. I'll survive without the Pittenweem festival and it will definitely survive without me !
I like your artwork too Louise, some very quirky illustrations !

```hi
You have to find you own venue for Pittenweem. Most exhibitors go every year so it's almost impossible. I used to live up there and know a lot of people there and still couldn't find a venue. [thats not to say you won't though]
Good luck with it.
