Thinking about the thread about selling prints through galleries, I've done a poll to see if we can identify what works for forum members when it comes to selling. If anyone has a good website for generating sales they think I should add into the poll, reply to this post and I'll amend it if I can.

cheers
Elise

Most of my sales are through my own website sunsetpaintings.co.uk
TAW word of mouth and Easyart prints.occasionally zerooneart and artfair365.

Artfairs exhibitions and galleries produce less as people are mostly out to view, but can be good for advertising and marketing.

I sell well off here and also http://www.affordablebritishart.co.uk I also have stuff on Art Wanted and Zeroone art, but have only sold one off those.
I also sell paintings at craft markets etc.We are doing one this weekend at Shobdon Food and Drink Festival, Herefordshire. We ususaly do very well there, but with the credit crunch starting to hit around here Im not going to count my chickens!
I also tend to get people signing up for my painting workshops when they see me demonstrating at these events.

I have noticed a few known names have migrated from the other well known website to TAW lately.

I don't spend time as I should on promoting my work - sales for me are just a bonus - i just love to paint...a sort of compulsion. So lack of sales isn't a reflection on the websites but of my input to them...
I have sold some via my own website http://www.jeanniezelos.com and sold a few through minigallery until i was unceramoniously dumped by them :( .........
I haven't sold any via another website but belong to several - but remember i don't input enough. You have to chase and constantly update sites for sales - some people seem to think all you need to do is to put work on a site and the riches roll in.... i wish :D
