On skin tones try burnt sienna mixed with white to give a warm pink then add a small amount of yellow ochre.A tiny bit of cerulean blue or sap green added to this will give you shadow tones.

That is one lifelike doll! I like it a lot! I'm not much of a painter anymore...and I was only ever average at watercolours, but IMHO, it's not too pink at all...Babies do seem quite pink/flushed to me when compared with other, older people. :D
I agree with the suggestion above about treating them as art...another way that you may get some interest for them would be as celebratory or memorial pieces to parents who've recently had a child or who've had a child pass away.
:? The second one is a little morbid, but some people appreciate having artwork in 3D that can help them with remembrance of loved ones who've passed on.

Hi Guys, thank you for all your replies. This is the latest update a member from the forum kindly bought this babydoll from me and she is now living happily with a little girl in China. This purchase allowed me to buy another kit and as you have all been so kind with your comments you will be the first to see the next completed doll.

Thank you

Hi Sweets,
Great doll! As others have written, I use a variety of colours depending on the light and subject. However, I have found that Naples Yellow is a good companion to Yellow Ochre, Alizarin Crimson, Ultramarine and Titanium White (among others). Naples Yellow is a very soft colour and not as overpowering as Cadmium Yellow.

I'd try experimenting with the colours on a scrap of white melamine or board until you come to a satisfactory mix.

David
