I understand that. When we paint we are expected to squint. In her case the squinting provided petals, stamen, leaves and stalk.
Possibly following in the footsteps of Georgina O'Keefe who saw part of her body as an iris!!! Jack

At the beginning of term at my Life Class we had a chap who came in and when the model posed he started to look very uncomfortable. After the break he had disappeared. At the end of the session I went to admin where all the women were laughing. " We had a very irate gentleman from your life class in here at break demanding his money back. When we asked why he said he didn't realise it was nudes, he thought he'd be drawing vegetables!"

i was going to go to the same class but couldn't make it. when OH discovered it was nude bodies he was shocked. I said to him what did he think it was - "flowers and stuff"... so had to explain the dif between still life and life study...
glad i didn't go in the end cos the tutor had a comission for some rather risque paintings and was getting the model to - ahem - "discover her body" bit too far for me and def for OH. also the tutor was often the model too and was very keen on them painting a certain part of his anatomy in detail whilst he showed them it closley -
