I kinda like it although i am not too sure, i think i would get a smoother effect if i used oils, perhaps i'll have a bash at that next.

Any comments guys?

Your 'Sunset' acrylic speaks volumes about your painting potential - love it. I can't comment on this one now I've seen that one! Well, not that there is anything wrong with this one.
And why aim for a smoother clone in oils when you could try them on next rush of inspiration!!

A friend of mine starts off with an underpainting similar to this and then lays on several thin washes over the top, dabbing off with a cloth between each layer so that she builds up a layer of stains. The effects are very smooth and may be what you are after?

Hi Amy - great minds think alike - here's one of my first abstracts :D

I used the paint texture deliberately to enhance the curves.

Smooth ? Smooth ??
God save me from smooth !

To touch is to know the texture in all things.

Take hold of life and all you see within it.

Now paint what you feel.

(Here endeth the first lesson)
