I am definitely interested but agree that the quality is paramount. How can we control the outcome?

Thanks for everyone's feedback so far.

Just to let you know, we haven't yet made any firm arrangements with any of the printers. But to help us make an informed decision we wanted to gauge as to whether or not this service might be of interest and what your concerns might be.

I definitely would as well. Maybe something along the lines of what Imagekind does? Their model is that there is a base price/size/type of paper or canvas, the artist chooses the markup, and when a print is sold, the artist gets the difference between the sale price and base price.

Absolutely. I've done so in the past, and would do so again in future if anyone was interested, as I never part with originals (unless they're comissioned).

I have no concerns re: quality - I made my own prints on an old laserjet printer 7 years ago which looked great, so I'm sure current technology would be far in advance of that level.

Keep us posted ;)

The Artists Web wrote:
The Artists Web has been approached on various occasions by printers interested in some sort of partnership. We think that an attractive extra service for members would be the ability for shoppers to browse and buy prints of work aswell as the originals. We are currently reviewing some possible web based suppliers for this service. At this stage we imagine the service could be something along the lines of a 'Order Print' option next to your work on The Artists Web. The printing, shipping and payment would all be handled by the third party supplier who would pay a percentage of the sale value.

We would be interested to hear if you have any feedback on this as a possiblle feature, please post a reply!
sounds very good, I have limited editions.

 Yes I would certainly be interested in selling prints. I agree with others, doing a small print run is very expensive. As a disabled artist trying to get several prints done of various pictures is well beyond my pocket!
